These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Jot macOS application (the "Software") and the website at jotapp.pro (the "Site"), operated by Jot ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the Software, you agree to these Terms.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of any applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software on Apple Silicon Macs that you own or control, for your personal or internal business use.
Jot is offered as a free trial, a one-time Lifetime license, and an annual subscription. Pricing is shown on the pricing section of the Site. All purchases are processed by our merchant of record, Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited and its affiliates), which handles billing, taxes, and invoicing. By making a purchase you also agree to Paddle's Buyer Terms.

The Software may automatically check for and download updates from jotapp.pro via the Sparkle update framework. You may disable automatic update checks in the Software's settings.
The Software, the Site, and all related trademarks, logos, and content are owned by Jot or our licensors. These Terms do not transfer any intellectual-property rights to you, except for the limited license expressly granted in Section 1.
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that transcription will be accurate or error-free, or that the Software will be uninterrupted, secure, or compatible with every Mac configuration.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jot will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Software. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising under these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid for the Software in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
We may suspend or terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms. You may stop using the Software at any time. Sections 3, 5, 6, 7, and 9 survive termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the competent courts of England and Wales, except that consumers may invoke the mandatory protections of their country of residence.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Software after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
